Dear Church of the Good Shepherd Family,
I confess I missed the “Pastoring during a Pandemic” class in seminary.
As I mentioned in the church wide email, the COVID-19 virus is both fast and unpredictable. In an effort to care for our own church and our greater community around us, we are suspending all in-person activities until further notice. And, it’s with great sadness that even includes Sunday morning worship. We are in the process of thinking of creative ways that we can stay connected to one another during this time.
We will be able to worship in some form online via our Facebook Page, which will be posted on Sunday AM by our normal worshipping hour of 10:30 AM.
You will receive further communication from me each Monday. You can always reach out to me by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) via Facebook or by my cell phone. We will continue to be God’s people amidst this chaotic and confusing time. We will pray for each other, our community, and our world. Our commitment to offer God our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness does not change. In fact, it may only increase.
You may give online during this time by clicking ‘Online Giving’ on the top right corner of this website or by mailing a check to the church office. We are so grateful to be in ministry together even if it looks slightly different the next few weeks. If you need anything at all, please let Pastor Molly know. Our staff will be working remotely and we are here to support you. If you think of a way we can safely be in ministry together, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
One of the ways we can witness to our faith in this time is to continue to care for each other, especially the vulnerable among us. We do all of this not out of fear or panic, but a deep sense of the important call to love all of God’s children.
